About the ReNewFCC
The co-processing of renewable and circular loads in FCC units is a strategic alternative for increasing the share of renewable carbon in fuels and reducing emissions. However, the high variability of these loads, such as different sources of vegetable oils and bio-oils, brings relevant operational and catalytic challenges, such as higher oxygen content and high metal contamination.
To meet these demands, Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. has developed ReNewFCC™, a state-of-the-art family of catalysts formulated with zeolites of different topologies and acid sites adjusted to selectively control deoxygenation routes. The result is greater retention of renewable carbon in the target products, operational stability, and an increase in the refiner's profit margin.
ReNewFCC™ has already demonstrated differentiated performance both in the laboratory and in commercial units, with proven gains in selectivity for higher value fractions, high resistance to metal contaminants and ISCC PLUS certification for all commercially produced derivatives.
