Ser Cidadão officially launched the 2026 activities of the Biblioteca Ser Cidadão Project on July 8, marking the beginning of a new cycle of initiatives focused on promoting reading, education, and access to culture in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
As a sponsor of Ser Cidadão through Brazil's Rouanet Law, FCC S.A. also supports the organization through corporate volunteer initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to projects that generate positive social impact.
The event brought together public officials, educators, writers, researchers, and community members to present the 2026 program. During the gathering, the West Rio Literary Festival (FLOR) was also introduced, an initiative dedicated to strengthening the region's cultural production.
Throughout the event, the importance of the library as a space for knowledge, belonging, and community development was emphasized, highlighting Ser Cidadão's commitment to expanding opportunities through culture and education.
The Biblioteca Ser Cidadão Project is carried out through the Municipal Cultural Incentive Law (ISS Law) by Ser Cidadão, in partnership with the Municipal Department of Culture, the City of Rio de Janeiro, and the Ministry of Culture, through Brazil's Rouanet Law.
