ReNewFCC, manufactured by FCC S.A., is highlighted for processing 100% renewable raw material feed at the Riograndense refinery

Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. was highlighted in a historic, innovative landmark of the refining industry: the first processing of 100% soybean oil in a test run at the Refinaria de Petróleo Riograndense (RPR) making use of the ReNewFCC^TM product of FCC S.A. 

By means of studies developed at the Petrobras’ Research, Development and Innovation Center (CENPES), through process and catalyst innovations, it was possible to use as feed a 100% renewable raw material, providing entirely renewable petrochemical products. The processing of 100% renewable raw material in a fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCC) is  pioneer worldwide.

ReNewFCC^TM is the most recent product launched in the FCC S.A. operation market, which is highlighted as a robust, highly efficient solution directed to renewable raw-materials coprocessing and processing. In its operation, the catalyst technology is indispensable for the strategies of success towards energy transition of the refineries to build a sustainable future.
