Between 3 and 5 September, Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. participated, as Host Sponsor, in a further edition of the Latin American Refining Technology Conference 2024 – LARTC.  Throughout three lecturing days, FCC S.A. was present at various panels, sharing innovative solutions and exploring the most recent in catalyst technology advances.

The company started its participation with the workshop “Catalytic Innovations Supporting Refiners’ Journey in the Energy Transition”, presented during the pre-conference. This session demonstrated that FCC S.A. is ready to face energy transition challenges and make them into profitable opportunities for refiners.

Among the selected workshop topics are highlighted: the DENALITM catalyst, designed to reduce CO2 emissions and maximize the profitability of cracking units; ReNewFCCTM, focused on renewable feeds processing; and the most recent FCC S.A. launching, FENIX, a catalyst specially developed for plastics pyrolysis. All of these solutions belong to the FCC S.A. essential services and products portfolio, stressing the company’s commitment with innovation and sustainability.

On the first day of the event, Luiz Valente, the FCC S.A. Director, participated in the Leaders’ Panel and discussed with other leaders the FCC S.A. role as energy transition catalysts provider.

On the same day, Technical Advisor Adilson Gutierres lectured on “Challenges and Opportunities of pyrolysis oil in energy transition: from pyrolysis oil production to FCC unit coprocessing”, focusing on technical challenges and market opportunities for coprocessing and maximization of biofeeds use in catalytic cracking units. He also highlighted the FCC S.A. expertise in the first 100% renewable feed coprocessing test in an FCC unit in Brazil.

Closing the company participation in LARTC 2024, Joana Pinto, Technical Services Engineer, participated in the Panel “Navigating the Digital Frontier: Driving Profitability, Safety, and Sustainability in Refineries”, to discuss, with other companies, the importance of digital transformation to optimize processes, improve safety and promote sustainability in refinery operations.

Besides its activities in panels and discussions, FCC S.A. booth attracted visitors’ attention with an interactive totem, where the participants could play and get exclusive treats from the company. Among the treats offered, magnets and cup holders shaped as Colombian fauna animals, made by local providers from certified wood.

Also, at the booth customers had the opportunity to interact with FCC S.A. technical experts, enabling the refiners to know the company products and services portfolio in more detail.

FCC S.A participation in LARTC 2024 stressed its position as innovation and technology leader in the refining sector, demonstrating its continuous commitment in developing sustainable solutions for the global energy transition.
