Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. (FCC S.A.) will take part in the 7th Latin American and Caribbean Refining Congress, organized by the Argentine Institute of Oil and Gas (IAPG), which will be held from October 28 to 30, 2025, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event is a key technical forum in the region focused on the exchange of knowledge, technology, and innovation in the oil refining sector, bringing together specialists, technologists, and suppliers from across Latin America.
With the theme “Challenges and Innovation in the Present and Future of Refining”, the congress will address topics such as operational efficiency, sustainability, energy transition, and professional development in light of the industry’s evolving landscape.
During the event, FCC S.A.’s Technical Consultant, Eliza Diamante, will present the paper “Challenges and Opportunities in Processing New Crudes and Non-Conventional Feedstocks in Refineries” on October 29 at 4:30 p.m. (Buenos Aires time). The presentation will highlight the impact of using new feedstocks such as ethanol and vegetable oils from macaúba and soybeans in fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) units, and will propose mitigation strategies that can be implemented to maximize the utilization of these new materials in refineries.
