Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. (FCC S.A.) concluded its participation in the Latin American Refining Technology Conference – LARTC 2025 with remarkable results, reinforcing its role as a strategic partner for refineries in Latin America. During the three days of the event, the company participated in leadership panels, technical presentations, and carried out an exclusive workshop, in addition to being recognized with the award “Energy Transition Solution of the Year” for the product ReNewFCCTM, consolidating its position at the forefront of innovation and sustainability in the sector.
On the first day, the Superintendent Director Luiz Eduardo Valente participated in the Leaders Panel, highlighting the importance of listening to the demands of refiners and acting throughout the refining value chain, providing solutions that maximize the performance of the units and increase operational efficiency. “Everything we produce, engage in, and research is effectively for the refiner to have the best use of their units, a greater production of derivatives, and to work with crude oils that are more suitable for their demands. We are part of this value chain”, emphasized the Director.

Also on the agenda, the Product Development Consultant, Tiago Coelho, presented the technical presentation “Tailor-Made Catalytic Solutions for UFCC: Advances in technologies with high metal resistance" The session addressed the impacts of contaminants such as vanadium and iron and emphasized that, in light of increasingly heavier loads, solutions need to be customized to ensure the stability and optimal performance of the units. Among the highlights, Tiago presented the SaFeGuardTM, a catalyst developed by FCC S.A. for feeds with a high iron contamination content. “The FCC S.A. catalysts are considered a benchmark when we talk about accessibility in relation to iron. The SaFeGuardTM is a technological disruption”, commented Tiago.

On the second day of LARTC 2025, FCC S.A. conducted the workshop "Catalytic Solutions: Innovations for the Challenges of Refining”, bringing together your team of specialists and strategic partners such as Ketjen, Petrobras, and Acelen. The meeting addressed the current and future challenges of FCC units, the industry’s adaptation to a cleaner and more diversified energy matrix, and the growing impact of metallic contaminants on catalytic performance. During the workshop, practical and technological solutions were presented to make the UFCCs more efficient, allowing for rich discussions about the future of refining.
