The 40 years event of the Petrobras-Ketjen- FCC S.A. Technological Cooperation Agreement was celebrated on December 5, 2024.
Formatted in 1984, the agreement for creating a technological pool consolidated a close, continuous collaboration between Petrobras and Ketjen (a subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation) in the field of cracking catalysts research and development. The partnership, celebrated in the event, strengthens the common activities of the companies, that are partners at the Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores (FCCS.A.).
This year the partnership reaches four decades, which provide many advantages to Petrobras, including access to the highest technological standard catalysts and additives, thus securing improved profitability to the company’s Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units.
On the other hand, Ketjen is benefitted with its portfolio of products renovation in a highly competitive market and with pilot, prototype and commercial scale testing for the new products validation.
Luiz Valente and Rodrigo Pinto, of the FCC S.A. Board of Directors, have pointed out: “The success of this collaboration is the reflex of the joint commitment for the energy industry improvement. We are enthusiastic in keeping contributing with our know-how to a more efficient and sustainable future”.
Catalysts: A Key-Piece for the Energy Future
Catalysts play a crucial role in the energy industry, making it possible lower environmental impact fuel production while optimizing industrial processes efficiency. Renovation of this agreement enables advancement in the knowledge and innovation frontiers, promoting sustainable solutions that benefit both market and society.
