1985
FCC S.A. is launched
Through the Petrobras, Akzo and Oxiteno efforts and technologies the Fábrica Carioca de Catalisadores S.A. is launched.
1988
End of civil works
The year signaled the return of the engineers being trained in Holland and the start of the international exchanges.
1989
Initial partnerships
We started to serve the first Petrobras refineries: Refap, Repar, Regap II and Reman. In the same year we delivered the first batch of catalysts entirely manufactured by FCC S.A.
1992
The first export
We exported the first 100% Brazilian catalyst to Argentina.
1995
Certifications
We won the ISO 9001, ISO 140001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications, currently unified in our Integrated Management System (SGI), certified by Bureau Veritas Certification.
2002
Total Catalyst Management
Launching of the TCM service, enabling the customers’ stock control through automatic information exchange.
2002
Oxiteno
The year Oxiteno left FCC S.A.
2003
eCRM
FCC S.A launching of eCRM, a unique, digital and customized platform for relationship with customers.
2004
Albemarle
Admission of Albemarle Corporation to the organization through the sale of 50% of the Akzo Nobel shares.

New Technologies
Increase in production capacity through the Topaz technology introduction.

ProFIT
Launching of the FCC S.A. Technological Innovation Program based on the globally acknowledged Stage-Gate® Technology for Innovation Management

Best in Brazil
We were awarded the trophy and seal “Distinction Best in Brazil” – Human Capital Management and Business for Sustainability, granted by Sextante Brazil.
2009
Highlight in the Valor 100 Annuary
From 2009 to 2012 we were acknowledged as one of the best five chemical and petrochemical companies in Brazil, being highlighted for our financial strength in the Valor 1000 Annuary.

We conquered the “Day C” certification by INEA and Terra Institute for the donation of seedlings for Atlantic Forest native trees higher planting. Also, according to GPTW, we also reached the 21st position among the Best Companies to Work in Rio de Janeiro, being highlighted by our above average salaries and investments in qualification and safety.

Knowing the Industry Award
We won the “Knowing the Industry Award” granted by the Rio de Janeiro Chemical Products Industries for Industrial Purposes Syndicate (Siquirj) for our support to the program.

Best Supplier in the Critical Products Segment
From Ecopetrol we received the award of “Best Supplier in the Critical Products Segment”, the acknowledgement being restated in 2014, highlighting our excellence in the supply and customer service chain.
2015
Santa Cruz Technological Park
We strengthened our partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Petrobras and Cenpes for the Santa Cruz Technological Park development, which included the Catalyst Multipurpose Plant – ProCat establishment.

Development of several social environmental actions by FCC S.A. in partnership with institutions and the State of Rio de Janeiro.

Our global presence results from the union of two global market companies: Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) and Ketjen. Together, and with equal participation in decision making, they contribute for the internationally acknowledged unique FCC S.A. know-how and positioning.
Petrobras S.A.
Launched in 1953, Petrobras is one of the world largest petroleum oil and gas producers, chiefly operating in exploration and production, refining, energy generation and commercialization. A Brazilian company committed to add value to its stakeholders and to society, focusing on petroleum oil and gas, with safety and respect to people and the environment.
Ketjen
Ketjen, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Albemarle Corporation Company that, crafts tailored, advanced catalyst solutions for the refining, petrochemical and specialty chemicals industries across three divisions, Fluidized Catalytic Cracking (FCC), Clean Fuels and Hydroprocessing Catalysts (HPC), and Performance Catalyst Solutions (PCS). Its official launch took place in January 2023.
As a distinct brand, Ketjen continues to invest in current partnerships and provide advanced catalyst and specialty chemicals solutions, that are unique to each customer’s needs in their energy transition journeys.
Corporate Governance
Our Corporate Governance is the way we use to manage our businesses, nurturing and involving relationships among partners, Board of Directors, Directories and all the other areas that make FCC S.A. happen. It is the system through which we make decisions in order to assure the future of the company.
Fiscal Council
It audits the acts practiced by the Managers, assessing financial demonstrations as set forth in the Corporation Law.
Board of Directors
Formed by Consultants indicated and elected by the General Shareholders’ Meeting, its function being setting the company policies and guidelines.

Formed by a Superintendent Director and a Director, its function being managing the company in agreement with the directives of the Board of Directors.

Codes and policies
In order to support our Corporate Governance system, we follow a series of codes and policies that, together, act as ethical pillars for each FCC S.A. process. They direct our way of creating ties with several stakeholders, such as our customers, shareholders, financial institutions, government organs, employees and suppliers, as well as with matters related to health, safety, environment, communication, social responsibility and the working of our ethics committee.
Industrial Complex
To deliver our solutions in catalysts and additives with excellence we own a modern industrial complex with production and analysis automated equipment and systems that comply both with international operation standards and the most stringent quality criteria.
We also count on an advanced quality control laboratory equipped with leading edge analytical instruments. With it we analyze raw materials, intermediate products, finished products and equilibrium catalys.
Integrated
Management System
Certified since December 1995 at NBR ISO 9001, August 2002 at NBR 14001 and December 2002 at OHSAS 18001:2007, FCC S.A. reached, in August 2004, its IMS certification, a system that integrates the three rules. The transition from OHSAS 18001:2007 towards the ISO 45001:2018 occurred in 2021. To assure the certifications, maintenances and improvements are constantly performed and assessed by internal and external audits.
